Kroot to lead board on aging

Bobbi Kroot has been named board president of the Center for Successful Aging. A longtime Montecito resident, she started the Book of Life program at the Santa Barbara Federation and is president of the Sisterhood at Congregation B'nai B'rith. She sits on the executive board of the Jewish studies program at Indiana University. Mrs. Kroot attended UC Berkeley and graduated from USC with a master's degree in deaf education. She taught the deaf for many years. Other officers of the Center for Successful Aging are Gayle Golden, secretary, and Laurie Leighty, treasurer. New board members are Pat Snyder, Lynda Fairly, Frank Newton, Eilene Bruce, Charlie Schneider and Marty Golden. The organization provides free senior peer counseling to seniors and their families who are facing the challenges of aging.
